My mother is one of the most incredible people I have ever met. She is incredibly brilliant, absolutly goregeous, and always motivated. She has opened her own school, began a Montessori business in which she makes all the materials, and opened a fantastic two story childrens store. On top of all that, she has always been the best mother =). My mom is the type of person who knows exactly what she wants and goes for it. She has a very follow your heart while using your head philosophy. Anyways its three a.m. and I have a final tomorrow so I’m off.

Lights, beats, pulses, raves, turntables, fog machines, dancing, breathing, sweating, life. In California, electonic music  isn’t just a genre, it’s a lifestyle and oh what a fantastic life it is. My boyfriend’s best friend is a DJ yes…a DJ. (personally I’m super jealous/impressed haha) and he is fantastic! My room mate gave me one of his c.d’s which I have been playing on repeat while I do my homework, that’s how fabulous it is! Anyways, His name is DJ W (for D.avid, J.ames, W.illiford am I the only one who thinks thats the most clever thing ever? lol)

Electronic music is such an intense art. When I listen to it, I think of passion, and life, love, and hate. I think of the person I am and who I want to be. I love it =)

Lydia a.k.a shawty is amazing. She is one of the only people I have ever met that made me look back on my life and wish that I lived more freely, that I had let go and let life take me on the wonderful ride it is. She is beautiful, passionate, and so nice. I adore this girl. I was so nervous to meet my room mate for the first time. I told my sister that I would probably hate whoever it was and that it would ruin my whole college experience. When I walked through the door of the room we now share I knew I was crazy for thinking that…and I was right. Lydia is fantastic =) lucky for me!

Ok, I admit it….I miss rain. Yes, I realize I’m living in the most beautiful place ever (does it get better then Santa Barbara?) but I do adore a good thunder storm. I love wearing sweatshirts and rainboots. I love wrapping myself up in a blanket and reading all day. I love falling asleep to the pitter patter of rain on the roof above my attic room in Seattle. I miss all of that.

The other day, I was walking through the early morning ocean fog on my way to the beach and I realized that fog is kinda like the California version of a good thunderstorm. Although I still occasionally miss lightning and umbrellas, I for sure love the beautiful california sun =) and I guess fog horns are sorta cool like thunder haha.

Picture this: a teenage girl lugging around a gigantic camera that looks like it just time traveled from the 1800’s. Oh, btw, this girl is me and when I say this camera is old fashioned I mean it has bellows and a black cloth I have to go under to shoot. This camera is legit dude. Anyways, heres a few photos of the camera. (we named it THE BEAST, cause its beasty like that?)

 

Sometimes, I think that if I was any happier, I would explode. Even when I cry now, I am happy. Everything about me screams passion for life, for photography, for all the people I love. Sometimes, I’m so happy I burst into tears because I cant hold the joy inside me. Sometimes, I’m so happy that I turn up my sterio and sing on the top of my lungs. Every once in a while, I will put on heels and dance in my room because i have to release some positive energy. Sometimes, I’m so happy that it hurts…but it’s a good hurt. I love who I am, I love the life I’m living, I love the people in my life. I’m following my heart, I’m persuing my dreams, I’m letting passion run my life…and I love it.

Looking down over a freeway in Los Angelos is dizzying. Being honked at is exhilerating. Having fun is priceless. My room mates Toni (nicknamed Blondie!) and Erica (nicknamed Lil Mama) and I (nicknamed Circle K) hung over hundreds of cars as they zoomed under us at 90 miles an hour. (our last room mate Lydia a.k.a Shawty was M.I.A) The only thing keeping us from death? A gaurdrail. It was like that sugar or spice game from elementary school but better! (remember? you wave at people in cars and if they wave back it’s sugar and if they don’t it’s spice?) We started off waving and screaming like idiots and moved on to blowing kisses, and oh! the responses we got! =) We actually managed to get two city busses to honk and wave at us. It was one of the funnest things I have done so far in L.A. I adore my roomies and doing crazy things with them just makes my life!
