pride

I am proud of my mama who is probably going to open another location of her magical childrens store. I’m proud of my grandma who just got the cover of her soon to be published novel finished. I’m proud of my boyfriend who has the most amazing photographs. Im proud of my dad for being such a strong hero in my life, for being a foundation, for building our homes. Im proud of my brother, who plays the guitar so beautifully, it makes me want to cry. I’m proud of myself for following my dreams, for being happy, for the life I’m living. So if pride comes before a fall…then falling is a welcome thing in my life…because I am prideful.

On another note, these are my contemporary glamour shots. =) I’m super proud of the first one! The second one…not so much lol. Geneva Brown was a wonderful model!

it’s the little things

Denis Waitley’s definition of happiness was  “Happiness can not be traveled to, owned, earned, worn, or consumed. Happiness is a spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.”

This qoute made me think about how I define happiness, what makes my heart feel joy, and my lips curl into a smile. I decided that for me, my overall spirit of joy comes from the little things in my life. The click of the shutter as I do what I am passionate about. The feel of the stick shift as I cruise down highway 101. The crash of waves upon a sandy beach. The way my boyfriend looks at me. The smile that tells me that my family loves me unconditionally. My list goes on and on, but whether its a ray of sun kissing my face or clean sheets to rest my body on, it’s  the small positives from every day which add up to be an aura of happiness that fills my soul and my life.

Shooting Blondie (Toni) and Pebble (Bert) in the studio for my studio couple assignment reminded me of how joyful life can be. Watching them giggle and tease and be generally lighthearted inspired me so much the entire shoot. They so genuinely make eachother happy that you can’t help but feel a peace and cheerfulness when you are with them. =)

So here is to two people that share their optimism with the world. And here is to the little things that bring sunshine into my own life. =)

my first panarama

Yesterday, I wen’t on a panarama adventure =) The billowing fields and slightly hazy mountains had me thanking God that my assignment consisted of hiking with my camera and capturing something beautiful…I truly do love my life haha

ally

Ally Perry is one of those girls who just make you smile. She is beautiful, kind, funny, and a whole lot of fun to be around. =) She modeled for my assignment to shoot with my flash as the key light.

ashley, round 2

So I posted some other images from this shoot like two months ago. BUT, I had a lot of fun turning them into black and white and bumping contrast today. So, here’s the result =). Oh! And the two with strange lines are the result of lens flare…I actually really liked what happened lol. I absolutly adore the last image =). Ashley is such a wonderful model <3

oceans and mermaids

I was looking through one of my old journals and i found a page about mermaids…WIN! hahaha I wrote a poem and a list of pros and cons on being a mermaid. It made me giggle so I thought I would share lol.

The poem:

A violent ocean, a tossing sea. Seagulls cawing, a childhood dream. Notes of a lover, tried and true. Mermen, mermaids, an endless blue. Secrets and treasures tangled in kelp, a stranded sailor screaming for help. A dying romance, a dying tale, turbulant waves, a screaming gale. Balmy palms, sandy toes, easy come, easy go.

Top eight reasons I would make a fantastic mermaid:

1. Im an h2o bby! DUH!

2. I’m a helpless romantic, defintely a pre-rec.

3. I could be friends with dolphins HAHA.

4.I love the water =)

5. I don’t mind being alone in a peaceful abyss.

6. I could sing all the time…the fish wouldn’t mind.

7. I would get a shimmery tail =)

8. I could swim around the world!!

Top seven reasons I would be a horrible mermaid.

1. I look fat in a sea shell top (lol!)

2. The ocean scares me O_0

3. What do mermaids eat? I HATE seafood…’nuff said

4. Tangled hair.

5. I would miss photography and music.

6. How does a mermaid sleep?

7. Maybe I would get just a lil bit lonely…

The pros won…I guess I’m going to be a mermaid now!
