“A kiss is the rosy dot over the “i” of living.”
Love is so special. It is the universal language, it is all.
These are portraits of Laci and Micah, a couple who met in Fairbanks, Alaska (my hometown) and picked up everything to move to Ventura, California on an adventure. I love it when people take risks and make big changes when they want to so I admire that they have these traits. I photographed them on their anniversary and we all enjoyed a wonderful sunset and lots of laughs 🙂
During my very first internship with a fabulous photographer named Barbie Hull I noticed a pattern about myself at weddings: I am a crier. I was photographing couples that I had never met before that day and bawling behind my camera. Call it being emotional, call it being sentimental, I call it being connected 😉
It turns out that the tear factor is not absent when I know the people either. Cody was one of my best friends growing up. He is the cousin closest to me in age and I love him dearly. He met a beautiful woman and they fell in love and the rest I suppose…is history.
Thank you Cody and Georgi for making me a part of your day. I wish you complete bliss. I am so happy for you both.
We had a guest speaker the other day in my photography class and he accidentally reaffirmed that I am exactly where I need to be. He stood before me and talked about our responsibility to the world, our responsibility as artists to change it. He said that all humans care about is five things: sex, money, prestige, property, and social acceptability. He said that we had to have these elements in our images to sell a universal message.
I don’t except this as truth. I realized that I don’t want to be important, I don’t want to change the world. I want to be important to a mother who lets me photograph her child. I want to be important to a bride on the most beautiful day of her life. I want to capture family. I believe that LOVE is a universal message. That connections and ties and beauty and truth are found in the honesty of our beautiful relationships. I reject that human beings care only about money. I believe we care about money because we want to care for those we love. Love, love love. Love is all we need.
This is my truth. I am where I’m meant to be and doing what I should be doing. This is what my photography stands for. <3
I absolutely adore photographing the fairer sex. Women each have such a unique wonderfulness about them and I truly believe that our femininity and special beauty should be celebrated.
Michelle is so utterly beautiful both inside and out. She is one of those women that you feel drawn too…she has a big personality, a big smile, and big hugs. I photographed her under some breathtaking trees in San Louis Obispo, California where she goes to school. I had such a blast and came away with some images that I found to be absolutely lovely. 🙂
Mothers and their children are my absolute favorite thing in the world to photograph. I love love and what love is greater than that of a mother’s for her baby? Harper and Hillary were an absolute joy. Both were so sweet and so beautiful, they stole my heart. <3

Were all running around starry eyed, with big dreams and bigger hearts. Were all really just the same, all trying to create something beautiful, something meaningful. All trying to “make it”. Who do we think we are? Running around all hopeful 🙂 Were all almost famous: the lovers, the dreamers and me.
